Marily, the daughter of an oil tycoon, is an alcoholic and a nymphomaniac who has been in love with Mitch Wayne since childhood. Mitch, who works in geological exploration at her father’s company, does not return her feelings. He is friends with the tycoon’s son and heir, Kyle—a playboy with numerous insecurities who periodically goes on drinking binges. Kyle falls in love at first sight with office worker Lucy Moore. At first, after their wedding, she has a positive influence on her husband, but after he is diagnosed with infertility, Kyle begins to doubt himself and loses his composure. He suspects Lucy of having an affair with Mitch, who is indeed quite taken with her.
