A Star Is Born 1954

Los Angeles. At the premiere event celebrating the release of the latest film starring movie star Norman Main, Esther Blodgett, the soloist of the guest orchestra, stops Norman—who has stormed the stage while heavily intoxicated—in the middle of her own performance. She manages to turn his unplanned visit into a supposedly planned part of the show. Once sober, Norman, grateful for being saved from embarrassment, wants to repay the young woman. After hearing her sing, he decides to help her incredible talent achieve success in the movies. Esther is given the stage name Vicky Lester, and Norman manages to secure her the lead role in a major musical. As Vicky’s star rises higher and higher and she wins a well-deserved Oscar, Norman’s star, unfortunately, begins to fade. Their marriage and family happiness prove to be short-lived. The unemployed actor begins to drink even more, and not even his wife’s love can save Norman...
