Stagecoach 1939

A few people are leaving the town of Tonto in New Mexico by stagecoach. Doc Boone, a drunkard who was expelled from the medical association long ago. Dallas, a prostitute whose sexual escapades so enraged the local women that they expelled her from their not-so-high-society circle. Hatfield, a cardsharp posing as a Southern gentleman, has his own reasons for leaving Tonto. Nevertheless, he pretends to have volunteered to escort the pregnant Lucy to her husband, a cavalryman. Henry Gatewood, a pompous banker, boards the stagecoach with a small suitcase that he never lets out of his hands. Samuel Peacock, a whiskey merchant, is carrying a crate of samples. These six people make up the passenger list, while up on the box seat sit Buck, the coachman—a giant who hates Indians—and Curly, a tough, rough-around-the-edges but honest and simple-hearted lawman armed with a shotgun. A short while later, Ringo Kid, whose horse has gone lame, joins them on the road. The stagecoach has set off—get ready for adventure!
