Billy, a young English clerk, is a pathological liar. Or rather, he lives in his own fantasies, in the land of Ambrosia, where he is a king, a general, and a great lover. As a result, nothing but trouble awaits him in the real world. First, his greatest hope—to become a screenwriter—is in jeopardy. Second, he’s entangled in relationships with three women: he’s already engaged to two of them, and he’s in love with the third.
