Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within 2010

Thirteen years have passed since the operation to clear out the favelas ahead of the Pope’s visit. Colonel Nascimento divorced his wife and now heads the military police special operations unit BOPE (Special Police Operations Battalion). During the suppression of a riot in one of the prisons, BOPE Captain André Matias, despite the pleas of human rights activist Diogo Fraga, who had been trying to resolve the situation peacefully, kills the armed inmates and their ringleader. The story makes headlines, Fraga accuses the special unit and the governor of excessive brutality, and as a result, Nasimento is removed from his post and transferred to the Secretariat of Security, where he is tasked with overseeing wiretapping and surveillance. Determined to make use of his new authority and resources, Nasimento increases BOPE’s combat capabilities and conducts large-scale raids to clear the slums of drug gangs. It would seem that peaceful life should now return to these troubled neighborhoods, and corruption among police officers should disappear. But the criminal underworld adapts to the new circumstances and begins to take on even more complex forms.
