A Night at the Opera 1935

The smooth-talking Otis Driftwood came up with a way to pocket the money of a wealthy widow whose affairs he managed. The widow dreamed of breaking into high society, and Otis persuaded her to invest a tidy sum in the New York Opera. Instead of the famous tenor Laspari, Otis hired a singer from the chorus and pocketed the rest. The singer turned out to be truly talented and, for just $10, performed like he was worth a thousand, all while winning the heart of his beloved chorus girl.
