What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? 1962
In the 1920s, young Jane Hudson performed in music halls. The girl was a huge hit with the audience. Her parents and her sister Blanche lived off her earnings, and Blanche was forced to hide her envy and irritation at her sister’s success. In the 1930s, the situation changed dramatically. Blanche became a very popular Hollywood actress, while Little Jane’s stardom began to fade. In 1935, as a result of a car accident, Blanche became disabled and lost the ability to walk on her own. Nearly 30 years later, the sisters were living together. Jane’s mental state deteriorates sharply due to her alcohol addiction and jealousy of Blanche’s former glory; Blanche hides from her sister that she plans to sell the house and send Jane to a sanatorium.
