The plot of this historical drama tells the story of two friends, Jean Luchère and Otto Abetz, who fought for peace in Europe, beginning with the friendship between France and Germany in the 1920s. However, World War II changes the situation: Jean becomes a collaborator and founds the newspaper "Nouveau temps", while his daughter Corinne tries to build a career as an actress in occupied France. Meanwhile, Otto is appointed ambassador of the Third Reich in Paris.
