Dr. Louis Creed moves to a small town, where a large house awaits his family and a modest position as a doctor awaits Louis himself. Misfortune befalls the Creed family: Church, their beloved pet cat, is tragically killed in a freak accident when he runs into the path of a truck. Church's death shocks the doctor's family, and Louis decides to take a desperate step. He buries the cat in an ancient Indian cemetery, which, according to legend, has a mysterious power of resurrection. And one night, the dead cat returns to its owners.
