The movie very frankly and cruelly shows the realities of the English prison of those years, shows the life of boys on the example of the fates of several of them: confrontations with guards and other prisoners, humiliation, up to torture, for example, in the form of walking barefoot on the street in the cold, work in this colony, the relationship between teenagers - or rather, almost grown-up young men.
