It's been years since a boy with paranormal abilities, Danny Torrance, survived a nightmare season at the Overlook Hotel where he witnessed the madness and death of his father. Growing up, Dan led the life of a marginalized alcoholic, but now he's trying to quit and has even taken a job at a nursing home. There he unmistakably determines which of the residents is ready to leave this world, for which he received the nickname Dr. Sleep. One day Dan is contacted by an incredibly gifted "shining" girl named Abra. Soon she needs his help to confront members of the organization "True Knot" - a group of hunters of special children.
