Scarlett, the daughter of a research archaeologist who took his own life, has devoted her entire adult life to the search for the philosopher’s stone. That very mythical artifact which, according to medieval alchemists, is capable of turning any metal into gold and granting immortality. The young woman pursues her goal uncompromisingly, and she even manages to pinpoint the stone’s presumed location—the catacombs beneath Paris—and find local guides: a team of fearless enthusiasts who love to climb through the narrow passages of the world’s largest crypt.
