Red Cliff 2008

Ancient China, 208 A.D. Cao Cao, a shrewd prime minister—and de facto ruler of the empire—convinces the indecisive emperor to wage war against two independent kingdoms under the pretext of unifying China. An army of a million soldiers easily defeats the small forces of the Kingdom of Shu and traps the remaining troops in the citadel at Red Cliff, leaving them no choice but to seek help from the ruler of the Eastern Wu kingdom by sending military advisor Liang Zhuge there. He manages to convince the ruler to send an army led by Vice-Governor Zhou Yu to aid the besieged forces. And now it remains to be seen whether brute force can overcome courage and cunning.
