Alice in Wonderland 2010

The life of 19-year-old Alice Kingsley takes an unexpected turn. At a Victorian-themed party thrown in her honor, Alice is proposed to by Hamish, the wealthy but foolish son of Lord and Lady Escott. Without giving an answer, the girl runs away and follows a rabbit she spots on the lawn. It’s a rabbit, sure, but it’s wearing a doublet and keeps glancing at its pocket watch. Alice chases the White Rabbit across the entire meadow and sees him disappear into a rabbit hole. Then, unexpectedly, Alice falls in after him, plunges down a strange, fairy-tale tunnel, and lands in a circular hall with many doors. After drinking from a bottle labeled “DRINK ME,” she shrinks, and after taking a bite of a cake labeled “EAT ME,” she grows. Finally, after a series of misadventures, Alice passes through one of the doors into a wondrous, fantastical world that its inhabitants call Underland. There, a whole parade of colorful characters awaits her: the boastful Sonia, the Mad Hatter, the mocking Cheshire Cat, a hookah-smoking caterpillar named Abessalom, the eerie White Queen, and her spiteful sister, the Queen of Hearts, the capricious and irritable ruler of Underland.
