The happy Cameron family lives in a house in Piedmont, South Carolina. Dr. and Mrs. Cameron have three sons: Benjamin, Wade, and Duke—and two daughters: the eldest, Margaret, and the youngest, Flora. Their friends from Pennsylvania, Ted and Phil, come to visit them. Phil falls in love with the Camerons’ eldest daughter, while Ben Cameron falls in love with Elsie Stoneham after seeing her photo.
