Sunshine 2007

The year is 2057. The sun is dying, and humanity faces the prospect of extinction. Planet Earth’s last hope lies with the “Icarus 2”—a spaceship whose crew consists of eight men and women led by Captain Kaneda. Their mission is to deliver a nuclear charge intended to reignite the dying Sun. During the journey, while far out in the silence of space, with no radio contact with Earth, the crew picks up faint distress signals from the spaceship “Icarus 1,” which went missing seven years ago while on the very same mission.
